After retiring from 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as an avionic technician and instructor I started working as a Government contractor providing SME (Subject Matter Expert) support for the U.S. Air Force for C-130 avionics. It didn’t take long to get interested in the business side of Government contracting. That was over 20 years ago and I’m still learning about the business side of Government contracting.
For about 8 years I worked full-time as an independent consultant for large and small defense companies. During that time I developed a set of tools to help small businesses with Capture Management and Proposal Management. I still have a lot of companies contacting me asking for advise and assistance so I thought I would publish of the paper I have written to help businesses new to Government contracting and individuals who may be looking to get into the defense industry.
